The Wadden Sea National Park

A part of the UNESCO World

The Wadden Sea is an important resting place and is essential for the millions of birds that every spring and autumn draw between breeding areas in the north and wintering in the south.
More than 10 million waterfowl pass through each year the Wadden Sea during their migration.

The Wadden Sea extends over about 500 km from Blåvandshuk in Denmark to Den Helder in the Netherlands and covers about 9.000 km² marshes, tidal flats, deep, sandbanks, sandy beaches and dunes. A chain of islands separate the Wadden Sea from the North Sea.
