Sort Safari (translated in to Black Safari) was started more than 10 years ago, when the ranger and ornithologist Iver Gram decided to make Denmark’s best private company for nature guides. The phenomenon of “Black Sun” was at that time most known among locals, but as the main attraction from Sort Safari the spectacular scenery attracts now close to 75.000 visitors to the area each year. And there is much more on their program besides the starlings, so you have plenty opportunity to experience Denmark’s wildest nature all year around.

In the middle of the marsh, close to the sea and adjacent to the Wadden Sea National Park and Germany, is one of Denmark’s oldest and unconditional beautiful villages, Møgeltønder. Amid the street Slotsgaden, a stone’s throw from the castle Schackenborg Slot, the Sort Safari has their office in a beautiful, old house from the 1800’s. Here they take your calls, book sights, organizes and develop trips and take you and other guests out for the best experiences in nature, just outside their door.
